Community leaders from Hancock, NY gathered at the Hancock House Hotel to hear a presentation from Stepping Stone Partners on social media. The gathering was sponsored by the Hancock Partners, who invited town officials and local non profit organizations to hear how a unified strategy regarding social media can benefit the interests of the community and each individual organization.
The presentation gave an overview of the social media space, best practises in the field and some simple initial steps that can get different projects moving. It also addressed the normal concerns regarding negative feedback and time commitment. A follow up meeting is scheduled for next week to help these organizations establish their Web 2.0 presence.
